With the rapid development within the flat display community, tremendous attention is being directed towards LED backlight. What remains in the realm of unconsciousness are the benefits beyond efficiency. At CEDIA, we will experience the introduction of an LED backlit display that steps way beyond the big guys by utilizing Dolby Vision technology.
Dolby, has established a host of standards in the audio world, and has stretched into the video world. A leading high end manufacturer has been embracing this technology exploiting Dolby Visions proprietary algorithmic control of LED's. The result is what has been termed "Deep Color".
Previously, I had mentioned that I would provide some preliminary technical specs. Well lets refer to them as features:

Previously, I had mentioned that I would provide some preliminary technical specs. Well lets refer to them as features:
- Display: LCD panel + Power LED BLU (2206 High Power LEDs) + Dolby Vision Technology
- Peak Brightness: > 4000 cd/m2 (Can you say, holy smokes)
- Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Full HD
- Contrast Ration (Full On/Full Off): INFINITE (Over 1,000,000:1)
- Full 16-bit processing (65,536 shades per color) - Hence "Deep Color"
- Widest range of displayable color
- Luminance uniformity: more than 95% through the LCD panel
- White point: adjustable
- Professional inputs, including HD-SDI
- Silicon: Xilinx Virtex field programmable gate array (FPGA) chipsets.
More information coming in the following days. Just wanted to share the love.
